When I was younger, I wasn't very interested in reading, but when I was about 9 or 10, I fell in love with this one book, Holes by Louis Sachar and after that I started to get my hands on lots of different books and slowly, I started to fall in love with books...
Writing was different though. For as long as I can remember, I have always loved writing stories. When I was little, I loved the idea that I could invent my own story, and that I got to control what happened. I never stopped writing lots of different little stories and when I was twelve, I finally finished, for the first time, a short story that I wrote and used an online publishing company to publish it. It is not available for purchase, it is 33 pages (average book size), it is called Forever & Always, and I am proud to say that for the moment, just for the moment, it is my masterpiece...
Currently, I love: Cream Soda, Cupcakes, Books, Writing, Traveling, Dance and Music
My motto: Enjoy your books, love your life, do what you love and push yourself until the end, because you will go far.
Hey Gia,
ReplyDeleteI understand you like historical books. Me, too! Have you ever read "The house of Arden" by Edith Nesbit? I would love to read your comments on it!
Nina
Hey Nina,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, historical books are great fun to read. I haven't read "The house of Arden" but the author's name rings a bell. After I read your comment I looked up "The house of Arden" and I read the summary. The book looks really good and it is exactly the type of historical book that I like to read. Thanks so much for your suggestion, because I think that I might get the book this weekend and read it this summer!
Enjoy the reviews, and thanks for your reccomendation,
-Gia
Hey Gia! We met over the summer at a little restaurant in France over the summer.I'm pretty sure it's name had something to do with cats, and it was across the street from another restaurant that had something to do with dogs. I hope you're doing well, and I think this blog is awesome! Nice review on Holes, by the way. And if I should make a suggestion, the Hunger Games trilogy is AWESOME! The movie for the first book is coming out in march, too. Anyway, AWESOME BLOG! Try calling my mum, your dad might have her number.I hope you're well, and do try the Hunger Games.

Dear The Anonymous Pug,
ReplyDeleteI do remember you from the summer! That was a fun dinner. I remember that we talked about 'Holes' because you were reading it at the time. Did you finish it? Did you like the ending? I thought that it was great!
Thanks for making a book suggestion, and yes, I have heard of 'The Hunger Games' and picked it up in a store but didn't buy it as I have a huge pile of books to read. I want to read it though, it looks really good. I will try to have it read by March!
Thanks for reading my blog and for leaving a comment.

hie Gia,
ReplyDeleteI like your blog...It's really pretty and awesome.Really, keep it up.:) You have lots to say on books and it's your life.
I'm not really interested in books but in English, I had to search for a book to talk about and as I saw your blog, I thought.. "oh what a good blog!!"
Ok. Continue on adding more and more. For example, you should put Oscar Pill. It's a great book.
hi
ReplyDeleteyour blog is quite good well done
Hey Gia!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if you've ever read the original puffin classics The Adventures of Robin Hood, by Roger Lancelyn Green. I got a really nice hardcover edition for my birthday in November, and it was incredible. Also, last year I read a book called Pip: The Story of Olive, which was great fun to read(and I'm not just saying that because of the title; it's really well written!).
Warm regards,

Hi Gia!
ReplyDeleteI meant to put this in my last comment, but two years ago I read a book called Molly Moon's Incredible Book of Hypnotism which was AMAZING! And it has a Pug in it, which naturally makes it more endearing. Anyway, I read the first two books(it's a five book series), which were amazing but I never got around to reading book 3. I think you'd like them.

Dear Anonymous Pug,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recommendation (again!), you always know what I would like to read! I will see if I can get 'Molly Moon's Incredible Book of Hypnotism' and write a review on it. Merry Christmas,
-Gia
Hey Gia!
ReplyDeleteYou know, Suzanne Collins has written other books too. I got 'Gregor the Overlander' for Christmas and it was amazing! It's a 5 book series, but I only heard of them quite recently. I'm starting book 2 tonight, and I'd definitely recommend them. We both know what an amazing author Collins is. :)

Hey Gia!
ReplyDeleteI was in Toronto on the weekend for my March break, and I came across this TOTALLY AWESOME GIANT BOOKSTORE! I left with a huge bag of goodies, including a book I've been looking for for AGES, which went out of print like a decade ago. It's the second book in the sequel series to the very first novels I read on my own, the Bunnicula series. This urged me to read some of them over again, and I'd completely forgotten just how endearingly clever they are. They are rather short, and a few of them are out of print, but they are well written and incredibly funny.
Warm Regards,
-The Anonymous Pug
P.S.:Once I'm done my latest haul, I'm planning on reading 'A Brief History of Montmarray', because you gave it such a great review and because it seems like my kinda thing.
Hey!
ReplyDeletecool challenge! I think you'll like Inkspell because you loved Inkheart, I like them too. After Inkspell is Inkdeath, the last book of the series, you should read it too!
Good luck,
Ellanna
Ps. I love the book countdown, it's amazing!
Hey Gia!
ReplyDeleteSorry I've been cluttering up your comment wall. I was wondering if you'd ever read "Graceling", by Kristen Cashore. The initial plot is kinda gruesome, but the book is SUPER ADDICTING. I read it in bed for 8 HOURS STRAIGHT! Try it, if you've got the time. My mum told me you'd moved back to Vancouver. Good for you! It must be nice seeing all your old friends after being in France for so long. Anyway, I'm leaving for Italy on thursday, staying there a week, then Ireland for 2 weeks. Have a nice summer!
Warm Regards,
